Millionaires talk shareholder value, Billionaires talk product

Another one from Tom Peters’ blog.

Millionaires and big company CEO’s talk about “shareholder value”, while billionaires like Gates, Ellison, Jobs, Branson and Buffet all talk about “product” with passion and enthusiasm. Of course that doesn’t mean they don’t care about shareholder value, it’s just that they understand that true shareholder value only comes from creating fantastic products that people absolutely have to have and are willing to pay a premium for.

All I ever talk about is “product”, so what gives?
